Hi Guys,
Tristan had his PH Probe Mon. 8/15 and the pulmo. clinic nurse called today with the results. Â*His GERD is NOT worsening! Â*YEAH! Â*His meds are taking care of it.
For the other news, we still don't know if a Nissen/fundo is in his future. Â*If his GERD had been worse, then we would have really gone ahead with the surgery at that point. Â*It still is an option, just because he continues to vomit/aspirate. Â*His GI wants to wait a while and see if it slows down on it's own.
On the way home from the hospital yesterday, just as I was pulling in the driveway to our home, Tristan's pulse ox went off with a low sat reading. Â*I was like "What the heck?". Â*When I looked at him, he had pulled out his trach and blood was coming from his stoma! Â*I ran him in the house and started trying to put in a new trach. Â*His stoma was so tight, it took about 5 attempts at different angles to finally get it in (that's the stuff nightmares are made of). Â*I immediately called the ENT and he saw us right away. Â*He wants to revise the trach and put in a new size and brand (Bivona I believe he said). Â*Anyway, it is still bloody around the site today, but secretions are clear at this point.
There is my saga for this week (I hope that will be our only near miss).
Blessings,
Dawna
