Mason'sMom&Dad

Last year Mason's trach was upsized to a Bivona 6.0 TTS trach. We inflate the cuff when he sleeps or is ill. Once we hit this size, Mason went from a pediatric trach to an adult trach. The difference in the trachs is that the pediatric outer part (flange?) is more "v" shaped while the adult version goes more straight across. With the adult size trach, he has a big leak in the bottom of the stoma where the bottom of the "v" used to be. We are able to compensate for this leak by putting split 2x2 gauze under his trach. However we are now looking at "stoma maturation surgery". Anyone familiar with this?
