Suctioning II: Secretion Consistency and Plugs

My apologies if this is too gross for some of you. And I hope I didn't miss some possibilities. My thirst for information has perhaps gotten the better of me today.

For clarification by a "serious plug" I mean a plug that cannot be coughed up and if not suctioned immediately with or without the use of saline would result in decreased oxygenation and likely death. For the purpose of this poll I think I would have to exclude the first suction of the day after being asleep all night, which for us, generally is more tenacious.

I put thickish and very thick....it just depends and of course winter is always worse because it is so so so dry here. Sometimes they are very thick-almost to the point of being a plug but not a serious plug. Does that make sense?

I voted for Alize. Ciara would have been secretions a little thick and more frequent serious plugs. Karen

Sam rarely gets plugs, though his secretions are variable, they are quite thick at the moment.

Nathan has watery secretions unless he is sick. We have never had a plug, but we have had some thick, sticky stuff that he needed help clearing out--saline and suction and his big cough.

Usually watery but we have been known to get some plugs too, espeically when she is sick and things tend to thicken up

Ash's are normally thin, unless she's sick then they can get very thick. She's slso never had a serious plug, just really thick crap that needs saline to loosen it up.

It's so dry lately. We have a humidifier in the bedroom and downstairs. The warm mist humidifier on her at night - but it so often ends up on the back of her neck and then we'll hear her weezing but really dry. She's always been somewhat thick/white - but has a great cough and gets a lot out.
