...waiting for my test results!
The appointment (Monday) for my CT scan went a lot better than I expected. They had a nurse to start the IV. She was very receptive and thanked me for the vein advice and pointing out the good ones. She used the smallest catheter and got the IV on the first stick with very little searching. Everyone was very accommodating. I didn't freak out because of the table (I am scared of edges). I have gotten more used to them since I have been doing gj tube changes. And the table had a little pad matress. Everyone was patient and understanding. It was strange that when I had the CT of my head I had a headache and was dizzy while it was being done. They were concerned about the contrast because of my itty bitty veins. He even turned the rate way down and had another tech observe me. It burned my hand pretty good and kept burning so they stopped right away. But the contrast still infiltrated so my hand is pretty sore and has pooching places. Enough contrast went through to get the image. I had a bit of a reaction to it-tight heavy chest and a little constricted airway. It went away gradually in about 45 minutes. It probably would've been a lot worse if they would have done the normal rate and full amount...Although it had its problems all in all, especially considering me, it went well and they did well. I have had this disgusting taste in my mouth since the scan-bleck. And my stomach is very iffy-I was sick this morning...But I am okay.
It was marked as a wet read...so I am alternating between it must be fine to it must be really bad and they are trying to figure out what it is
