YEs, the day is coming tomorrow.. the 17th. I am truly scared for her but more afraid I cant handle this. Can anyone give me advice on how to compose myself and what to expect??? I am just needing to keep breathing?

That's wonderful! For us I think afterwards it was sort of anticlimactic. You work so hard to get there and of course we were elated but poof just like that it's out, they wake up, you go home and you're done. I hope it's like that for you and you can just go on your merry way. It's all good!

I am thinking of you both today.:) I hope all goes well and keep us posted. I am already on pins and needles, waiting for a bed to come open for the big "D" day for Jacob. So, I can really relate! I can't imagine how you're feeling on the actual "D" day - good luck!

What do you guys do when you think your getting sick????

Look at my child and think, Wow did God really allow me to have this child to care for?

You have to be an awesome parent to have taken care of a specil needs child. Relax and enjoy the freedom your daughter is now experiencing. I am so happy for you. WTG Ericka !!!!!!!!!

If you mean getting sick literally, do as always, Good handwashing, mask if needed and minimize exposure. If you mean sick from fear just take it one day at a time. You got used to the trach and you'll get used to the naked neck. Karen:hug:

I am scared of what is to come. BUt not afraid because I know she has gotten so much healthier.

I mean sick . I keep forgetting things must be my again. I remember the handwashing and mask thingy but in the mist of all things you lose your brain with a new situation. Thanks everyone
