Glad to hear your news! My husband and I were terrified and excited too when we got the o.k. for the LTP (which was a year ago today as a matter of fact!http://www.twinEnterprises.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif. As scary as the whole thing is, you know that Dr. Cotton and the Cincinnati team is the best there is-don't you love Dr. Kaul? Keep us posted!

Hi Scott!
We're so glad to hear the good news! I guess it is kind of a mixed blessing because the surgery is not exactly fun and games, but the end result is what you've all been waiting for. May 19 will be here before you know it, and Carson is going to do great. We will all be cheering him on from here in Atlanta!
Love,

http://www.twinEnterprises.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Hi, Scott! Haven't posted in ages, but it seems like we may be in the same boat - at least I HOPE! First, I think it's wonderful that Carson is able to see Drs. Cotton and Kaul and that they are able to help. I thought maybe you could help me as I go through the same process. Do you live far from Cinci? How did you get referrals and justifications to go outside the network (if applicable)? Who determined the Level of surgery and were there choices to be made, or did they just say, here's his problem, here's how we'll fix it? I'd like to know more details so that when we get in touch with him, I know what to expect. A little background from my post above: Michael sees an ENT and a pulmonologist. He has 1 area of stenosis, 2 additional areas of significant collapse. Dr. Cotton told my ENT that it's obvious Michael has multilevel issues and that he would get a team together to handle his issues/surgery, and they could do the intake in Richmond. Is that your experience? If not how many trips did you have to take? Is Carson on a vent, or just trached? Thanks!! Susan
